Protect History: Stop the Arch
Testify Against The Arch! Outdoor (near Memorial Circle) and Indoor (location TBD) or Virtually from your own home
Join us for the Final NCPC (National Capital Planning Commission) Vote on November 5. This will be a virtual event but we want to hold our own event and folks can testify virtually at the NCPC meeting but in person at a location we choose. You can testify virtually from your home, or join us in community at an indoor location (TBD), as well as an outdoor spot near Memorial Circle.
November 5, Opportunity for Testimony Against the Arch at an NCPC Meeting: The Nov 5 NCPC agenda has been confirmed, and the meeting will be held virtually due to the anticipated large volume of speakers.
If you want to speak, you must click the REGISTER TO SPEAK AT A MEETING link. Individuals are allotted a 3-minute speaking time. You do not have to submit a comment or attach a pdf file. The meeting starts at 1, but the first speaker likely won’t be until close to 1:30 or 2, and last speaker could be quite late, depending on how many are signed up.
This is your opportunity to let the Commissioners know how The People feel about this Arch.
We will be set up for those who are registered to speak at a location TBD or you can speak anywhere virtually.
Third Act DMV hopes to filibuster this meeting! So we need 100+ people to sign up for a 3-minute speaking window. You will be delivering your remarks virtually.
About: Third Act DMV has been battling against the vainglorious Arch with rallies, pickets, vigils, comment letters, and testimony. Now we are asking Third Actors across the land to join the fight. And we are sounding the alarm against a threat far wider than one grotesque attempt to Trumpify Arlington National Cemetery.
At the last two meetings where we had lots of speakers, it was clear that the Commissioners are not listening to us, but we need to be heard.
Either way, we need your help to get our Stop the Arch message across to the NCPC.
Please check out our regularly updated Cheat Sheet for trainings, vigil times, and any rapid response that we will be needing.
